Ended up going to Goodwill like I said I would.
I spent about $4.30, but I’ll have to check my receipt later for the exact price.
I got myself:
- 3 skirts
- 1 tshirt
- a pair of shorts
- skein of yarn and other yarn scraps
- tapestry yarns (which I won’t use, so they’ll go towards the giveaway that I’m doing SOON!)
I got my daughter:
- 2 skirts
- 2 pairs of shorts
- 1 dress
- 1 shirt
- 1 jacket
So, overall I believe it was a good haul. I’ll be posting pictures either tonight or tomorrow morning!
I quit my job this morning, due to a lot of different factors. Until I find another, I’ll be making and selling these tutu skirts. I’m going to premake five or six of them and try to get people in my family to buy them, and as much as I despise Etsy, I may make one. If you have a little girl, are pregnant, or know someone who would like one of these, let me know. I can do pretty much any color and any size. Price just depends on size and amount of colors.
I need to clean.
My chunkin munkin made an absolute mess this morning. Her daddy just picked her up though, so I can clean it all up but am unmotivated to do so.
I need to get up though because I need to go shopping. I’m dying to buy a new dress, and I need to hit up some craft stores. My cousin’s girlfriend asked me to make a tutu skirt and matching headband for her niece’s first birthday, so I need to shop around and check out tulle prices.
I made a trip to Goodwill today. I spent less time in there than I normally do, bought more, didn’t get as much craft supplies, and still managed to stay under $2.
I got:
-One ball of yarn.
-A Disney Princess skirt for my daughter.
-A mac n’ cheese shirt for myself.
-A Hello Kitty nightgown for my daughter.
-Hello Kitty PJ pants for my daughter.
-A flowery tank top for my daughter.
-A striped shirt for my daughter.
-Then the last two pictures are of the bottoms of two skirts that I got for myself. Tomorrow I’ll attempt to get pictures of myself wearing them.
Overall, I’m damn happy.
Goodwill Shopping at it’s Best
Okay, so I made my way back to Goodwill for the second day in a row. I’m pretty sure that I’m becoming an addict, but I guess it doesn’t matter. The pictures are of all the things I bought today. The first is a veil. It still has a price tag on it for $135. Then I got these cute little pencil pouches for my sisters (I feel bad buying things if I don’t buy for other people, too). See those tiny shoes? Yeah, they have Dora on them. My stepsister is due to be having my first niece in June, so those will go to her. Then I found that cute, little dress for my daughter. The random blue strip is some type of ribbon or something that I thought would be cute on a bag or something. Then I found the bag that is pictured, and I’m going to clean it up and embroider something on it. There’s also a set of purse straps and some plastic rings that I’ll find some use for.
What was the grand total that I spend on all of these wonderful things? $1.59
I feel like a shopping god. o.o
Food & Shopping.
My dad orders pizza about twice a month and he always gets either the really cheap stuff or the stuff that tastes like they just dipped it in a container of garlic. I eat it without complaining, but he knows I don’t really like it. Well, I guess last night he got a little extra money, and his amazing memory reminded him that my favorite pizza is Papa Johns with pepperoni and banana peppers. So, that’s what he bought. Thing is, I texted my sister around 8pm to say that I wasn’t coming home. I got home about an hour ago and he was like, “I ordered your favorite pizza last night. There’s still some in the fridge if you want it.”
I feel bad that I didn’t even bother to say I wasn’t coming home before I left yesterday, and now I feel even worse because I’m leaving again tonight. He already knows that though.
In other news, I bought yarn yesterday. Michaels was having a sell on Loops & Threads Impeccable. They had it 2 for $5, so I picked up six skeins of it. Two each of Amethyst, Lavender, and White. I’m debating on making my daughter a little throw for her birthday. If I do, I only have about two weeks to do so, so I need my ass kicked into gear.
I also stopped by Kmart and picked up a few things today. Got this cute, little dress for my daughter for $6, and then shorts, a skirt, and a shirt for $5 each. I’ll probably finish the rest of her birthday shopping there next week.
I guess I’m going to start crocheting before I leave for the night.
I want to knit a sweater.
And not really the thick, warm, fuzzy, well-fitting kind of sweater.
I want something soft, baggy, thin yarn, huge needles.
I’m not the girly type, but I want pink and white stripes.
I knit and crochet non-stop, all the time, but I never really make anything for myself. Now that I have a little bit of money, I’d like to make this for myself.
I’m not normally good at sticking to big projects, but I have a lot of little things that I need to get done as well, so I figure I’ll just work on a little bit at a time and go back and forth.
Now if only I could find a pattern that I really like.
